Free eBay Picture Hosting

As you certainly know eBay is: ‘online auction and shopping website in which people and businesses buy and sell a broad variety of goods and services worldwide‘.

These good people provide one really good marketplace, and certainly they want to earn money from it.
They have several taxes, but probably the most annoying (for me) is for the picture hosting.

That is why I prefer so called eBay Self Picture Hosting option, and this will be the matter of this tutorial: Free eBay Picture Hosting.

For that purpose I am using one really good site called AvatarHosting.net, and I think it is good because even it is free picture hosting site, also it is fast. I tried to host some pictures on imageshack but sometimes the pictures are loading so slowly, so I am sure I am loosing money because of this. They have separate eBay picture hosting section where your pictures are hosted and do not appear trough the site.

So, let us see we can use Avatar Hosting .net for Free eBay Picture Hosting.

Open the home page of Avatar Hosting .net, then at left you will see the upload section.

Choose there browse and locate the picture you want to host for eBay Sales.
Then eBay pictures category, click on private if you do not want to share your images with others and write down your e-mail where the link codes will be send.

It should look similar to this(click on the image to enlarge it):

When you are ready click on ‘Upload’ and wait while the picture is uploaded.

My advice is to reduce the picture size not to conserve space on Avatar Hosting .net site, but the loading of your pictures to be fast. At the end the picture has to be loaded on your eBay customer’s screen and if it is the maximum allowed 2Mb you may miss sell because of too slow loading (this often is because of your customer’s Internet connection speed).

Once the picture is uploaded it will appear on a different page and there will be ‘Get Links’ button which will expand all available options:

Direct HTTP Link is the section you need to copy from.
Select the whole URL and paste it in you eBay Self Picture Hosting section.

Here is how it works:

In eBay when you start selling item you have to set several options like brand, price, amount, etc.
Almost at the end you have section: ‘Bring your item to life with pictures‘:

Click on eBay’s ‘Add Picture’ button and choose ‘Self Hosting‘:

Well, that’s it. You can see how simple is to use Avatar Hosting .net site to host your eBay pictures. There is no need to pay for hosting, buying domains, to use FTP clients to upload pictures and then finding the correct URLs that show your images in eBay.

The next is the preview my order in eBay. Certainly I pointed on the image hosing for eBay and it does not have price, specifications, etc. but you can see how my image from Avatar Hosting is working fine.

There is no need of account. That is the point. If you want to keep the links to the images, jut mail them to yourself.
If you loose the link, you can always upload the picture again.

I am not sure if there is a limitation of the number of the links in eBay, but it seams I will save a lot if I use this picture hosting website.

  5. Soni says:

Do you know how to remove the Avatar Hosting tag from the picture?

  6. I suppose that you talking about avatahosting.net overlayed logo over the picture. Not sure that this is possible, but for me this is not a problem, because the logo is very small and positioning at bottom right is very discreet.

  7. Tony says:

I think inf the picture is submitted under eBay section the logo will be there no more.
