Free Hosting Service

Free Hosting Service

This article is a part of How to do (start) online business by myself tutorials and will cover the Free Hosting Service.

This type of hosting often is provided by the ISP’s (Internet Service Providers) as a part of the package services they offer. In most of the cases you can put not more then one page with few pictures. Another option could be mail service, but both usually cannot be used with your own domain.
So the good part – it is free, but no technical support, no databases, no (probably much) security options.
From a technical side this type of hosting could be both Linux and Windows, but as far as it is free probably it will be Linux.

Other examples of free hosting are the specialized ones like Free Blog Hosting (BlogSpot), Free Image Hosting (, Web Hosting. The tricky part here again is that probably the free web hosts will usually provide a subdomain ( or a directory ( In contrast, paid web hosts will usually provide a second-level domain along with the hosting ( Many free hosts do allow use of separately-purchased domains.
Also the free web hosting usually are advertisement-supported, so there will be ads rolling on your pages.

There are also Free hosting companies that provide fully qualified service will almost all available options as in the paid hosting companies(usually they limit the mails in order to prevent spam messages). But this could be for a while, till one sunny day when they will say something like: ‘‘¦ As we want to continue increasing the quality of our services we basically turn our free hosting into paid one‘ .
Yes, then maybe 1/3 from the current users will leave this hosing, but a lot of people will start paying small amount since it will be easier for them then to migrate their sites to another hosting.
