When you start Pegasus for a first time you should see the application with empty fields.

Now to setup your Pegasus email account, go to ‘Tools -> Internet Options’

There an Internet Options pane will appear. Just click on Start Setup Wizard.

Pegasus Mail now is going to ask you some simple questions that will allow it so send and receive Internet mail for you.
If you do not know the answers to these questions, ask your mail service provider – they should be able to provide them.

On the first screen just click on ‘Next’ as it is just informative text. Then you will be asked for your email address.

Enter your electronic mail address click ‘Next’ where you should enter the address of your POP3 server.

There you must type the address (the name) of the machine that acts as your POP3 server.
A ‘POP3 server’ is Internet jargon for a machine where your incoming mail is store until you fetch it.
On the next screen you must enter the credentials for the Pegasus mail account.
Usually the username is the whole e-mail address (bart.symson@my-domain.com), but sometimes there are servers requiring only the name of the box (bart.symson). Also put the password which will proves that you really are who you say you are.

In case your mail service provider requires the whole e-mail, when you click next Pegasus mail client will pull-up warning message about the username you have entered. The application is ‘just’ warning that the mailbox name includes ‘@’ symbol.

This message can mislead you, especially in case when you really need the full mail name.
If you are in doubt, just follow the Pegasus advice and contact your service provider and ask for assistance on the proper format for your username.

If you are sure about what you have put in the username field, click OK to proceed with the SMTP server.

If your mail service provider affords an opportunity for SMTP your outgoing mail server address should be something like: ‘smtp.my-domain.com‘.
Otherwise it could be: ‘smtp.your-hosting-company.com‘ or ‘smtp.isp.com’.

Again this information must be gathered from the service provider.

When you are ready with the SMTP, you must specify the network connection that you are using.

Click next and Pegasus will have all the information it needs in order to perform basic Internet mail services for you.
